How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

They had me at "crushable" on an IG ad. I like wearing hats, but I also ride my bike a lot. Anything that's not crushable takes up a lot of space in my panniers. But this one, between seeing videos from others and having my cat lay on top of it 5 minutes after taking it out of the box, I'm excited to take this places and still have a cute hat to wear when I arrive to destinations. Or to pull it out of a suitcase if I'm traveling somewhere. I gave it my own twists and crushes, and it seems really resilient. It's not floppy and still has good form. I'm looking forward to wearing this hat in lots of places!! Sizing: I ordered a women's size small and I switched the sweatband to the medium thickness one that came with the hat. I generally have a small head and need the smallest size hat, so it seems true to size. I did measure my head to size myself before ordering.

Bought this for a tour of National Parks in the West and it lived up to the hype! It got crushed in a carry- on, roll-on., and vehicle seat pocket. I wore it every day and felt wonderful and chic. Store owner who sold hats complimented my hat —said they were her best sellers! It rained. No problem. Stayed on in the wind! Perfect to shield my face from sun during touring . I’ll probably buy another in black. ( Because when something is that great you get multiples -lol). Also , a return was effortless. First one was too large.

Firstly, American Hat Makers has stupendous customer service. I went from ordering an XXL to settling with a size medium. My returns/exchanges were all handled professionally & with patience. Just buy it! I love this hat. I wear it all the time and literally get compliments every single time I do! Just my go-to for when we got motorcycle riding, and the fact that I can just throw it in the saddlebag makes it ideal! I saw this beautiful hat and I knew I had to have it!!! I thought about it for over 6 months because it isn’t like the types of hats I always wear. I was worried that I wouldn’t look good in it like the beautiful models I saw in the advertisement.
One day I signed up on the website and was sent a coupon towards my first order!! Before I had a chance to think about it I added it to my cart and clicked buy!! I was so excited and watched through my tracking number to see when my hat would arrive. It came very fast! I opened the very well packaged box and there was my hat!! All wrapped up and nestled perfectly to keep it safe. The smell of the leather hit my nose instantly!! It smells so good and it is so soft!!! I immediately pulled the plastic off and put it on my head!! I ran over to the mirror and realized I was in love with my new hat!!!! It is more than I ever imagined!
Very high quality and communication with the company is extremely helpful. There is a booklet enclosed that tells all about the hat and how to take care of it. This is the best hat I have ever owned and I took pictures and shared them with everyone I know. We have a cattle ranch and I wear my new hat everywhere.
