How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

Gorgeous hat that I can easily wear in AND outside of Colorado and Wyoming. I love it I love the eagle pattern in the straw, which honors our country and I think it will be a big hit when I go to Albania too, where they love Americans and have a two headed eagle on their flag.

The Dover Bangora straw hat is similar to a Stetson outfitters hat I had. Overall construction seems to be pretty good and it's a nice looking hat. In my opinion, there are two factors that could be better. The inside top of the crown has a bunch of loose straw segments that look unfinished. So far, I'm not noticing them poking the top of my head when wearing the hat, but it would be nice for the inside of the hat to be finished better. The other area I'll be watching closely is the soft, elastic band on the inside, which is apparently supposed to help with the fit on your head. The Stetson I had also included this type of elastic band. It was something that only lasted a few years before forming big creases and becoming uncomfortable and that was with a minimal amount of use. I think I would prefer a basic, solid inside sweat band instead of this elastic. That still allows for spacers to be placed under the band if the fit of the hat is too loose. But still, it is a nice looking hat, so we'll see how it holds up.
