How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

This hat is light and comfortable, really nice choice for summer time. The spacers provided act as sweat bands and the fit is just right. I like that it is a medium firm straw and of course, safari styled.

I was a bit apprehensive at first having no real experience with a Toyo straw hat. I was concerned about resilience. What I found in this hat is a very nice hat. It is soft and flexible, it conforms to the head perfectly from the first time worn. It is light and airily, very comfortable in the sun and the heat. I liked this hat enough, I decided to order another Toyo straw hat from American Hats. I am still wondering about life span of the hat but at the price point, I am less concerned than if were hundreds spent on a wool or panama or palm straw hat. This paper Toyo straw is new one for me but I still expect this hat to give me some years before needing replacement.

I received my hat quickly and it fit well. I purchased it as an extra shade for my head as I mowed grass and worked outside. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because I was disappointed to see the made in China tag inside the hat. It's just that after reading your website I was under the impression that this hat would be made in the U.S. But I suppose the way things work in this day and age that was naive and foolish of me.
Anyway, with all of that being said, it's a good hat that I will put to good use.

I appreciate the hat quality construction and design. I like purchasing a hat made in America. My one request- increase the crown height proportional to the circumference. I have a huge head- circumference and height. The XL is perfect in circumference but the 3.5 in crown sits on my crown- Would be perfect if just a little taller- then it would be baller.
