How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

It would be nice if a reviewer gave a detailed description of why they did not like the hat. Rather than give a descriptive reason why he is returning the hat, Kevin F lashes out at the company like a child. I am still planning on getting one and adding a black band to it. So far all of the hats that I have purchased from American Hat Makers has been a five star product and they have gone out of their way to answer questions I had immediately. And by immediately I mean within the hour of sending an e-mail. Two of the hats I purchased, the Barcelona Sun Hat and Key West Straw Fedora are awesome and I wouldn't change anything about them. One dissatisfied reviewer claimed that the Key West looked like a "plastic cowboy hat" and he was returning it. So I purchased it to see for myself. Nothing wrong with it and no, it doesn't look like what he described. Just remember when listening to or reading someone's opinion that people suck and don't take what they say seriously. Keep up the good work AHM.

It's not what I thought it would be .I'm going to return the hat and hat band,your website as far as the color of the hat isn't the same I thought I was getting a dark brown hat
