How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

Received the beautiful Outback hat today. Its high quality was obvious: beautiful, soft felt, shaped to a classic Fedora. Was worried hat may be a little big for my head. Upon unwrapping and checking out the hat itself, found a strange cloth strip along the inside band. After some fiddling, discovered it was a strip velcroed on each end to adjust size to fit individual heads! Such attention to detail! I’m not sure if a hat twice this cost would do that. I ordered the Moab Zion | Mens Crushable Wool Felt Outback Hat. Shipping was quick . I found the hat did not fit as I wanted. The exchange process was very quick and easy. My replacement hat had a small imperfection and was told to send it back . I was going and trip and they sent the replacement second day air.
Very few companies have such quick and responsive customer .

My girl suggested that a black cowboy hat would look good on me. I'm not a cowboy, I'm a Virginian, and I do appreciate a fine non-cowboy felt hat, which this is! I like that it is also crushable , so I can stow it in my Harley saddlebags to take with me. AMH made returns easy. I first ordered a Large, but my size is just on the edge between L and XL. The replacement hat came quickly, and the sizing inserts for the headband made for a perfect fit!
She says I look good in it! Who am I to argue!?
