How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

This hat is my first leather hat and it did not disappoint. I really like that you can reshape the brim of the hat to add more or less flare. I reshaped it to have a flatter brim than how it was originally. It is real leather and the fact that it has a lifetime guarantee makes me not afraid to take it out on my adventures. I used Bickmore Bick 4 to condition the leather. I will definitely be buying more American Hat Makers hats.

Most Leather hats are too hot to wear in Summer but the Durango has wonderful ventilation. I love my winter Leather hats and have always wanted one I can wear in warm or Hot weather - The Durango is it! Leather is the most comfortable hat because the leather molds to you and fits like a glove. I also like the design which makes it easier to get in or out of a car - hats that take up more real estate will hit the doorframe if you keep it on (which I prefer to do). Both the "Western" and the "Durango" give you Leather with comfort and just the right size to keep on all day no matter how many times you get into or out of your vehicle.
