How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

1st AHM purchase but not my last: At first it fit a little 'roomy' - maybe too big but not quite. then I read and got educated on the comfort 'inners' with every hat to make it a touch smaller yet comfy. I also love the under-neck strap that carries itself beautifully behind the hat when not in use. But when you need the strap - You really need it and it's there for you. I've received compliments every time I wear the Florence. The airflow is notably great feeling. This is an all around great hat. I got the darker color everyday use.

This hat was a great hat to take to for a all day trip to the beach or on vacation. I loved the 3 1/2 inch brim to protect my face from the suns rays. It was lightweight and very breathable but I loved the fact that it kept its shape even after getting a little wet and carrying on a airplane. I had many other hats I have purchased that never kept shape after a vacation at the beach and flying back and forth. American Hat makers definitely is my #1.

This hat is perfect for my summer use. The wide brim gives ample protection from the sun and the fit is excellent! It definitely has a great look, whether on the golf course (it is definitely the best part of my game) or when I am playing my guitar and singing at a farmers' market. The design is not only comfortable, but very functional in keeping my head cool and protected!

I purchased two of the same style hats for my Wife & I for an up coming cruise. As always, the AHM hats are stylish, well made hats.
The ONLY reason for the 4 stars is that these hats are listed as “wide brim” hats on the AHM website. Comparing them to several other hats, and, a true wide brim hat, I ‘d say these are not wide brim, but a standard brim hat.
