How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

I'm new to the world of bespoke hats so I was a little nervous at first. But the AHM people answered all my questions promptly and with skill. The hat was boxed well and included two sizing pads, one of which I needed because my head is between sizes. Fits perfectly. I'll see how it wears before getting another one but I expect to be doing just that. If you're considering buying one be sure to have someone else measure your head and measure it several times.

I've been looking for the correct "Panama hat" for a while. This had all the right dimensions and shape for the look I wanted, but the picture didn't sell me. I took a chance and the site pictures do not do it justice. This hat is exactly what I wanted! It has that old school jazz profile from the 40's. Front brim tipped down, and back brim flipped up. It fits me perfect, size and style. AHM have done this well.
