How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

My dermatologist has told me that I need to wear a wide brim hat. So I'm have been replacing my hats with wide brim hats. This is the 3rd one that I've gotten from AHM. Pathfinder mens wool felt outback hat (large). Firstly, I returned the hat the day after I received it. Now, this is not a bad review. Opened the well packaged and secure box it came in. Hat is also in a plastic bag. Beautiful hat! Olive in color. Very well made. Tried it on. Too large, I'm guessing even with the supplied inserts, which I didn't open and believe they wouldn't have made much of a difference. Disappointed, not with the company, but myself for getting the size so wrong. I really wanted to show off my new hat. Now, to the positive part of this review. Contacted America Hat Makers for an exchange. Received an immediate response with return/exchange instructions at no charge to me. New hat ordered, original returned via USPS. Could not have be easier. So impressed. Can hardly wait for my new Pathfinder (in medium). I have already picked out my next one as well. Highly, highly recommend!
