How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

The hat has a nice look and the color is as desired.
The hat feels a bit small - will the hat size expand a little with use? I am not sure if I should’ve gotten then next larger size? The Brim is of an acceptable width but it does have more of a cowboy curl than what I hoped for. Will that brim flatten at all or is that a permanent curl?

This is one good looking hat! And the folks at American Hat Makers were awesome. I ordered one and it was just a bit too small. I called them, they set up the return, sent me a shipping label, and sent me a new hat, all within a day or two. The new one arrived and it fits perfectly. I really like the rake of the brim, and that it has a slightly wider brim than some similar hats, and a slightly lower crown. The felt is solid and holds its shape in the wind. All in all, just a great hat!
