How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

By far the best-fitting hat I've owned. My noggin measures 61.5 cm. The XL was too snug for my liking. The XXL fits nice, very nice. My hair is thick, but when it's cut short the half-size band works perfectly.

The Soaker is an awesome sun hat. It is everything I was looking for. Light weight, breathable,,can be soaked in water to beat the heat, has a chin strap that easily goes out of the way when not in use, and looks really good.
I use it while working outside, at the beach, and will be taking on a cruise very soon.
I have already gotten some comments from people that like the hat and would like to know where I got it from.
Very happy with my first purchase from American Hat Makers. I don’t think it will be my last.

This is my first purchase from AMH. I couldn’t be more satisfied. The quality is amazing and the fit is perfect. I haven’t soaked it yet but it’s gotten a bit wet floating in the lake with no issues. I wear it daily and have recieved numerous compliments.
I have already purchased a second hat for cooler weather. The buffalo leather hat is the softest leather I have ever felt. The fit and quality is amazing just as it is with the soaker hat . Customer service is quick with replies to email and the fact that you can speak to a customer service representative by phone is almost unheard of these days.
