How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

X-Large fit was perfect for my 7 5/8” head. Usually X large a bit too snug but this one is perfect. Quality is good but I do find it misleading g for “American Hat Company” to sell a hat made in China. Quality is good and holds what little shap this style of hat has. Definitely a bit pricey but still recommend it as a buy.

It's not shown, but the "pull straps" are not sewn in but just lose on the inside of the hat. You have to hold it in place while putting the hat on. There's a good chance it will either be showing or tucked up in the hat being useless. There is no way to tuck it in the band of the hat because that is sewn closed.
It also was not comfortable for my head. Too much pressure on my forehead even though the hat was the perfect size. The inside edge would leave a mark on my head. I would have normally tucked something in the band to smooth out the inside edge, but again, the band was sewn closed.
