How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

The Dusty Straw Hat is basically a decent hat. It's not fancy, but it doesn't have the price tag of a fancy hat. The hat itself is basically well-made, and the flag hatband is secured. However, I gave it a 4-star rating because the ornamental star on the hatband was not centered. I did not want to wear it that way, but I did not want to go through the return process because of the issue with the star. Unfortunately, the star broke when I tried to move it. But I'd rather no star than one that's an inch off of center. All the AHM hats I've purchased have been top quality, so I was very surprised to have the issue. I doubt that all the Dusty hats are like that, but mine was. I'm still a fan of AHM.

Same as the Caldor. Love the hat, but cannot rate it 5 stars due to sizing. I ordered and received a large, which should be 7-3/8 according to the size chart. It is much bigger than that! It’s at least a 7-5/8.
