How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

I got this hat as part of a BOGO sale on the website. It is very versatile in its use, and shape. I did find, however, that I needed to add some otter wax to it to improve the waterproofing before using it on campouts. It worked out well, and practically takes on the shape of the mood I’m in when I wear it. LOL.

I really like this hat. Very versatile. Not to hot to wear in the Arizona desert. Best hat for hunting, long wilderness hikes, fishing or just ruffing it like a cowboy.

I looked all over for a hat with this style and a 3" brim. When I found this one, decided to give it a try. When it first arrived, I was a little surprised by how big it seemed. But that was before I inserted the sweatband. Once that was in and a couple of minor adjustments made, it's turned into a great fit. The hat is stiffer than I expected, but when I called customer service to ask, they told me it would loosen up over time. Sure enough, just a couple of weeks into using it, it's already getting broken in. Thanks, American Hat Makers, for making such a great product. I'm sure this one is going to last me a long time.

I have bought 3 of the Irwin Fedora Hats. The hats run larger than usual. If your hat size is 57.7cm like my size is you would have to order a small. Other than that the are excellent made hats.

The hat is amazing, one of if not the best I've ever owned. However when you placed the tag in the brim it created a permanent hole about the size of an 18 gauge needle this is annoying, so I've docked a star.
