How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

With this being my first of many purchases from American hat makers, I will tell you something this hat is very well crafted stays in the wind shed the rain away from you is super comfortable. It wicks the sweat away. It’s just an all-around hat and it looks really good. I complemented on it that I plan on adding more to my collection.

Very comfortable and medium weight straw hat. Perfect for the summer, with Memorial Day and 4th of July coming up. The medium fit my 7 1/8 head perfectly, without needing the spacers. Switched out the hat band to make it even MORE patriotic. I’ve been very pleased with each of my AHM hats.

I love this hat! The fit is great, it's held up quite well this summer, and I get lots of compliments on it.
I don't know if it's just my hat, but after wearing it for a while, it started to smell. I don't know if it was from the coating on the straw or what, but the odor went away after wearing the hat a few days.
Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase, and I am purchasing more hats from here!

I’ve been wearing this hat for a while now. Just took it to Hershey Park for the afternoon and it went well. The fit is great, it stays on your head. The American flag style looks amazing and over all of he sun protection is good.
