How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

So I own 4 hats from American hat makers and my crushable hemp hat developed a loose stitch that spread.
Customer service replaced the hat quickly and I'm looking forward to some sunny days to incorporate this lightweight pack and go hat into my daily routine. This hat is particularly nice on really hot days, especially if your head has a tendency to sweat: it is a cooler and lighter option to protect your head and neck.

Overall, this is a pretty decent hat. I like hats, but have a difficult time finding ones that both fit well and look decent on me. I tried Tilley hats, (which are nice hats) but they just don't seem to look good on me. So, when I came across the Rogan Mens Crushable Hemp Hat, I figured I would give it a try. I have only had this hat for a little over a week, but so far, I like it. The pros (in my personal opinion) with this hat is that it is featherweight and the material is soft and crushable (just like the discription says). Because of this, the hat is very comfortable to wear and does not feel heavy on the head like many other similar brimmed hats. I also like the fact that it has a 2" brim, which for me is the perfect size (not too big or too small). I would give this hat a five star rating if not for a few cons (again, this is my opinion only). That hat is not water repellent like it claims in the description. I was wearing this hat outside during a light rain a few days ago and the rain did not shed off the hat at all. With in five to ten minutes of being exposed to light rain, the hat started to absorb the rain (like a sponge). So that was a disappointment. Another con is that I wish this hat would come in a wider variety of colors. It is currently limited to Khaki only. Overall, other then a few issues, this is a decent hat and I am pleased with my purchase.

I wore the hat everyday on vacation in Florida (10 days). It was exposed to some rain, sweat (for sure), lots of sun and direct rinsing with tap water. It shrunk a little bit but stretched out fine while wearing it. Very durable. Packs awesome and the light colored hemp rinses easy with no sweat staining and no signs of sun exposure fading. Now, the exceptional service: I had a problem with my original hat. The inside hat band was not aligned correctly on one side and it looked like I was wearing a sweat band under the hat. Maybe a minor flaw to some, but it was driving me nuts. Anyway, I thought I’d have trouble with a return, since I wore it and didn’t realize what was “off” about the hat until I had worn it a while. Bottom line, the return was accepted and the hat was exchanged…without any questions. In the end, the hat is exactly what I was looking for in a travel hat. Easily packable and indestructible. Photos shown are after daily wearing and full soaking and drying of the hat at least three times. I would also soak the hat, ring it out and wear it wet on the hot days on the beach. All in all, great hat. Great value. Great service. Great US company.

Great hat. Just like the others I've purchased from AHM. Had a slight issue. Which I mostly likely contributed to. The AHM is working with me to correct it though (Ticket# 247304143). Will definitely buy more hats from AHM.
