In terms of popularity and price, I filtered all cowboy hats by “top sellers” on these three websites. These are the most popular George Strait Hats and their prices at these best cowboy hat brands.

All three offer free ground shipping on orders over a certain amount, whether you're buying a hat or another product. They do not ship internationally. And their return policies are all a little different. Boot Barn and Shelper’s both give 60-days return to return a hat. Cavender’s gives you 30-days, and they make it tougher.

Boot Barn offers free ground shipping in all orders over $75. That means they all ship for free. The cheapest one is still over a $100. Under the Boot Barn 60-day return policy, hats can't show any evidence of wear and must be returned with original tags. They have a web form you have to submit which they promise to reply to within 45-days. Boot Barn pays the cost of return shipping.

Cavender’s accepts returns within 30 days of purchase and cowboy hats must be in as-new condition (tags, packaging intact, unwashed, unworn). But you have to fill out a Merchandise Return Form. That means you have to PDF you have to print out, fill out, scan and email it back. Good luck with that if you're out on the range. And they don’t say on their website if they pay the cost of return shipping. 

Shepler’s return policy is 60-days for a full refund, as long as the cowboy hat is in as-new condition (tags, packaging intact, unwashed, unworn). And they pay the return shipping fees.

The Stetson company used to make Resistol cowboy hats. But they fell on hard times and went bankrupt in 1986. Today, Stetson and Resistol cowboy hats are made by Hatco, Inc., which is based in Garland, Texas. They sell around a million cowboy hats a year.

Is Resistol made by Stetson?

Resistol is a top-quality brand created by the Stetson Company. These skilled artisan boot and hat makers invented cowboy hats. Their first was an open crown wide brim called the Boss of the Plains. The name Resistol is meant to suggest a rugged, durable brand that can “resist all” the elements roughnecks encounter on the range.

Today, both Stetson and Resistol cowboy hats are made in Garland Texas by Hatco, which owns both brands. Resistol makes the George Strait Cowboy Hat line as well as Jason Aldean and Cody Johnson collections.
