How to Measure Your Head
- Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (like twine or a shoelace) and a ruler or measuring tool
- Wrap a soft tape or string around your head to measure about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above your ear and about 3/4 to an 1" inch above your brow line (see image)
- Mark the tape or your string, where it intersects, with your finger.
- Record your measurement in inches or centimeters (centimeters is often more accurate)
- If you're using a string, run it along side the ruler as many times as necessary to get a complete measurement
- MEASURE AGAIN!
- Always measure more than once until you get the same number twice
- Find your size in the chart for the perfect fit

I received this hat crushed, now, while it was disappointing at first, I try to wait a day or two and then see how I feel. I’m okay with it! I got this hat to be a rough and tumble play hat to begin with. After some reshaping, which the wire in the brim allows a lot of, I love it! The hat is very soft, can obviously take a beating and be put back into service. While’s it’s a bit cold to take a straw hat out this season, spring is around the corner as is this hat’s time to shine!

This was my first real western looking hat. Brought me back to my Air Force Days at now closed Amarillo A.F.B. Texas. I always admired the hats in the various Taverns around RT. 66. Now I have a Texas Type hat from AHM’s that I look decent in. I pined my hat with many US Air Forse DSC Security Police pins. This Straw Hat is a lot cooler than a baseball cap. Maybe you could invent some Military Insignia Hats? In other words, I love this hat.

The Dusty Straw Hat is basically a decent hat. It's not fancy, but it doesn't have the price tag of a fancy hat. The hat itself is basically well-made, and the flag hatband is secured. However, I gave it a 4-star rating because the ornamental star on the hatband was not centered. I did not want to wear it that way, but I did not want to go through the return process because of the issue with the star. Unfortunately, the star broke when I tried to move it. But I'd rather no star than one that's an inch off of center. All the AHM hats I've purchased have been top quality, so I was very surprised to have the issue. I doubt that all the Dusty hats are like that, but mine was. I'm still a fan of AHM.
